Solid-liquid separation offers alternative for managing phosphorus

April 2, 2012 – Research by the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute suggests solid-liquid separation could help resolve some issues with phosphorus in livestock manure.
PAMI and the Manitoba Livestock Manure Management Initiative, Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the University of Manitoba, the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment and the Puratone Corporation has completed an evaluation of two commercially available technologies for solid-liquid swine manure separation.
