PA county conservation district holding manure management workshop

February 3, 2016, Lebanon, PA – Lebanon County Conservation District will hold a free Manure Management Plan workshop on Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lebanon Valley Agricultural Center at 2120 Cornwall Road in North Cornwall Township.

Every operation in Pennsylvania that produces or applies manure, regardless of size, is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to have a Manure Management Plan. This workshop will provide an overview of the MMP, followed by a hands-on session in which operators will work on completing their MMP. If available, please bring the following items if you attend: soil tests, farm map, crop yield records and manure spreader calibration information.
