Recycle sand in small herds?
March 27, 2015 – In a recent University of Wisconsin-Madison survey of Upper Midwest dairy herds with more than 200 cows, two-thirds used deep sand bedding.
These herds produced an extra seven pounds more of energy-corrected milk per cow per day than herds using mat or mattress stall surfaces.
