– Perdue has been recycling manure from chicken houses across Delmarva — about
700,000 tons in all, for the past nine years.

Perdue has been recycling manure from chicken houses across Delmarva — about
700,000 tons in all, for the past nine years.

Some of the litter is sold
to farmers who want the raw litter to fertilize corn, soybeans and other crops.
But most is hauled to a processing plant near Seaford, Del., where it is dried,
disinfected and shaped into pellets.
