Ont farm blamed for 20 kilometres of dead fish

August 6, 2014, Oshawa, Ont – Manure from a farm in Pickering spilled into Lynde Creek leaving a “huge amount” of dead fish floating along a 20 kilometre stretch of the creek, all the way into Whitby, the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) reports.

The spill happened on July 16, but the effects are still being felt. Two areas – Heber Down Conservation Area and Lynde Shores in Whitby – have notices posted cautioning users from entering the water. READ MORE
