NY links contaminated wells to manure

April 8, 2013, Marcellus, NY – State investigators have linked the contamination of three private wells in Marcellus to a farmer who recently applied manure to a nearby farm field.
The farmer, whom the state did not identify, has agreed to provide an alternative water source for the homes impacted by the contamination.
The owners of 56 private wells were advised by the Onondaga County Health Department on March 14 to boil their water after residents complained that their water was brown shaded and smelled like manure. READ MORE
