Nutrient management meeting in OH

April 1, 2013, Akron, OH – Nutrient management and protecting water quality is the topic of a meeting on April 4 in Akron, OH.

The session will be at the Copley Community Center, 1278 Sunset Drive, Akron, OH, and begins with lunch at 12:15; the program runs from 1 to 3 p.m.

There is no registration cost, but for lunch, you must register by April 2 by calling the Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau office at 440 – 877 – 0706.

The meeting is hosted by the Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Summit County Farm Bureaus and will cover some very useful information for farmers.

Dr. Larry Antosch, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation director of environmental research, will talk about the impact of nutrients on water quality, pending new regulations and the 4R program of nutrient management.

Carl Schneider of the Lorain SWCD will discuss conservation planning, nutrient management plans and best management practices.

Scott Kenreich of Natural Resources Conservation Service will talk about EQUIP and other cost share programs.
