No penalties likely in Franklin County manure spill

IA – Nutrient Solutions of Webster City will likely not be penalized for a
manure spill caused last week when its driver lost control of a hog manure tanker
and landed upside down in a wetland owned by the Franklin County Conservation
Board.

and landed upside down in a wetland owned by the Franklin County Conservation
Board.
About 8,000 gallons of
manure spilled into the wetland in the accident. Nutrient Solutions built a
containment barrier to prevent the manure from entering Spring Creek.
