Vaughan’s Rotamix process mixing system, said to be the latest innovation in digester mixing technology, incorporates the combination of glass-lined ductile cast iron nozzle assemblies with the proven 45-year history of the Vaughan chopper pump. The Rotamix system creates dual-zone mixing with a vertical-axis vortex, assuring uniform stirring velocities and virtually eliminating “dead” spots in anaerobic digesters.

The Rotamix system can be operated using any configuration of Vaughan chopper pump. Vaughan’s latest design, the 8” and 10” self-priming chopper pump, is specifically built to operate the mixing system at all operating levels of the digester. These pumps provide the highest volume and efficiency of any self-priming pump made, while the chopping action
eliminates clogging of the mixing nozzles, according to the company.
