Capturing swine manure methane workshop

Learn more about the anaerobic digestion of swine manure and other
related issues during a special workshop being held September 18 and
19, 2008.

Hosted by Environmental Credit Corporation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (Region 4) and AgStar, this free workshop is being held at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center, 414 Warsaw Road, Clinton, N.C. It will feature experts in anaerobic digestion technologies plus speakers from North Carolina State University, the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources plus the EPA.

After the workshop, attendees will be transported to Lillington, N.C. to view a covered manure lagoon. The Butler Farms’ project received financing from Environmental Credit Corporation, with contributions from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Conservation Innovation Grant. Employees of Environmental Credit Corporation, including the Butler Farm project manager, will be on site to answer questions during the tour.

For those unable to attend the workshop and tour on September 18, the tour will be repeated the morning of September 19.
