turkeys01According to a report in the Grand Rapids Press, Harley Siestsma recently made a presentation to the Pierson Township planning commission appealing to build the power plant, which would use turkey litter to produce electricity, on a 40-acre industrial site near his current feed mill.

Residents near the site are concerned about odors and noise that might occur if the plant is built.

Sietsma would use the litter from his 1.3 million turkeys as a feedstock for the power plant.
