MI orders farm to pay $75,000 fine

April 4, 2012, Port Huron, MI – A Sanilac County dairy farm has been ordered to pay $75,000 in penalties for an August 2009 manure spill that killed thousands of fish in the Black River.

A Sanilac County Circuit Court judge recently ruled that Noll Dairy Farm Inc. of Croswell, MI, pay the penalty to the state of Michigan. The farm was cited in a lawsuit filed December 2010 by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment as a liable party after negotiations failed. READ MORE
