Methane recovery workshop in Nebraska

January 13, 2009, York, Neb. – The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency’s (EPA) AgStar program is sponsoring a workshop for livestock
producers that handle manure in a liquid or slurry form and others
interested in learning more about methane capture and use from manure.

January 13, 2009, York, Neb. – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) AgStar program is sponsoring a workshop for livestock producers that handle manure in a liquid or slurry form and others interested in learning more about methane capture and use from manure.

This workshop, scheduled for February 19 at the York Holiday Inn in York, Neb., is intended to provide attendees with information about the costs and benefits of anaerobic digestion systems and to provide information that producers can use to determine if these systems would be a good investment on your farm.

Expert speakers will discuss a wide range of topics including, the various types of anaerobic systems, producer experience with these systems, potential sources of funding, feasibility studies, additional revenue streams from anaerobic digester systems including carbon markets, interconnection issues, and much more.

The workshop is free of charge, but there is an optional $20 fee for those wishing to enjoy break refreshments and lunch.

Limited on-site registration may be available the day of the event, but space is not guaranteed.
