MD company building manure filtration system

February 24, 2014, Pocomoke City, MD — A Berlin-based company says it has developed a process to completely remove phosphates from chicken manure and will have a prototype facility up and running by the end of summer at one local chicken farm.
The pilot project from Planet Found Energy Development is located on a chicken farm outside Pocomoke City owned by Jason Lambertson. Methane gas would be extracted from the excrement and used to power a generator. The facility would process about 1,500 tons of chicken manure to produce 26 kW of energy. Lambertson has eight chicken houses and grows about one million chickens a year for Tyson. READ MORE
