Apr. 29, 2008, Harrisonburg, Va. — Virginia poultry and conservation officials have launched a new web site to market livestock manure and manure-based products.

According to a report in the Northern Virginia Daily , the site is designed to augment the Poultry Litter Hotline originally started in January 2007. It's being sponsored by the Virginia Poultry Federation and the Shenandoah Resource Conservation & Development Council .

Visitors to the new site can access lists with contact information for growers with litter to sell, brokers who haul and spread, compost suppliers, and buyers.

The web site also contains links to information on how to use the material appropriately.

Anyone interested in more information or being added as a buyer or seller on the site is invited to contact Rebecca Barlow at rebecca.barlow@rcdnet.net or call 1-800-418-0768.
