Manure-spreading method saves time, reduces environmental impact

July 22, 2015, Randolph, VT – Vermont farmers recently received a lesson in how manure is handled and applied in other states during a drag-line demonstration at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT.

Most Vermont farmers spread manure using sprayers on tank trucks. The heavy gas-guzzling tank trucks carry the fertilizer to farms, often on fragile back roads, driving slowly through fields as they spray.
