August 4, 2011, Minerva,
OH – About 7,000 fish were killed recently when a flash flood swept manure into
Little Sandy Creek, according to an Ohio Department of Natural Resources
investigation.
The spill began at
Whiteleather Farms in Minerva, after a flash flood swept manure from three
dairy barns into the creek. It’s alleged the manure bypassed the farm’s lagoons
because the grates were plugged.
