Manure spill cleanup continues in MN

April 18, 2013, Canton, MN – Three days after a manure pit outside Canton, Minn., ruptured and spilled up to a million gallons into a nearby creek, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency staff continue to work to empty the pit.
The agency is working quickly in anticipation of possible heavy rain and snow in the coming days, said MPCA public information officer Cathy Rofshus. Staff is working with local farmers and the facility owner to remove a 30-foot by 10-foot wall of manure from the pit. READ MORE
