WI – An animal waste pit is stirring-up emotion in Shawano County. Neighbors in
Hartland are upset, saying a local farmer is putting a new manure pit too close
to their homes; and it’s not just the smell that worries them, it’s the
potential health risks too.

Hartland are upset, saying a local farmer is putting a new manure pit too close
to their homes; and it’s not just the smell that worries them, it’s the
potential health risks too.
The proposed pit sits
right across the street from one neighbor’s front door. “They have pulled their
equipment from the site and the only reason being, we have stepped up to the
plate,” says neighbor Jim Liesner.
