Manure pit accident kills two in IA

July 28, 2015, Emmetsburg, IA – A father and son died July 25 after being exposed to noxious gases in a hog manure pump pit.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, the 58-year-old father and 32-year-old son were making repairs to a manure pit when the younger man was overcome by the gases. The father entered the pit in an attempt to save his son. READ MORE
