Manure pile ignites in NM

May 2, 2011, Tularosa, NM – Otero County volunteer firefighters continue to contain a six-acre grass and manure pile fire that broke out north of Tularosa along U.S. Highway 54, a county emergency services coordinator said.

Paul Quairoli said it appears that a two-acre manure pile spontaneously combusted.
