Manure a profitable resource

The high prices of commercial fertilizer contribute to the incentive of turning brown to green. Gary Schnitkey, a University of Illinois ag economist, says farm returns will be lower in 2015 due to lower corn and soybean prices, and he encourages farmers to find ways of reducing costs for rent, seed and fertilizer where possible.
