Man trapped in manure pit dies

April 9, 2009 – A man was killed when he was trapped in a manure pit in Saskatchewan yesterday afternoon.

Saskatchewan RCMP say emergency crews found the man trapped at a
farm about 5.5. kilometres south of Rosthern, Sask. about 4:10 p.m.

RCMP say he was doing contract work on the 16-foot pit when pump problems started.

The 53-year-old worker was unable to get out of the pit.

RCMP and Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety officials are investigating the incident. | READ MORE
