According to a report in the Post-Standard of Syracuse, NY, Willet Dairy has spent the past nine years fighting litigation by a group of neighbors who claimed the farm was violating existing permits and not handling animal waste properly. During the course of the lawsuit, the dairy operation was examined by regulators with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and state and local health departments. All concluded Willet was in compliance with the laws.
