Jamesway, a manufacturer of feed and manure handling equipment for the dairy and livestock industry, recently released the new Electric Prop Agitator, designed to precondition liquid manure in reception pits. The propeller blades have machined leading edges, which pass by two sharpened and hardened stationary knives. This scissor action reduces the length of bedding materials while the propeller mixes the manure into a homogenous slurry.
In addition to reducing problems with pump inlet blockages, the slurry is much easier to pump to storage and is also correctly prepared for most digester systems. The Jamesway Electric Prop Agitator is available in three lengths: 8ft, 10ft and 12ft deep pit models, and may be equipped with a choice of 7.5hp, 10hp or 15hp motor. A simple foot pedal unlocks the unit so the propeller may be aimed at problem areas. An upper oil reservoir supplies the heavy-duty lower gearbox with constant lubrication.
The Electric Prop Agitator body and driveline design is based on the proven Jamesway Vertical Electric Pump frame.
