Israeli plant makes electricity from manure

September 20, 2012 – A new biogas plant in Israel will begin using cow manure and chicken waste to create electricity for nearly 6,000 homes.
Manure from nearly 14,000 cows plus waste from nearly 15 per cent of Israel’s total chicken population will be collected from farms throughout the country and shipped to the Be’er Tuviya facility. There the manure will be pasteurized and stored in air-tight concrete tanks, where it will produce methane. READ MORE
