September 13, 2012, Spencer IA – A Peterson, IA, hog farmer has been ordered to pay a $15,000 penalty for an illegal manure application that resulted in a fish kill last fall.
District Judge Nancy Whittenburg recently filed a consent decree in Clay County District Court in which Bruce Click, who owns and operates a 4,000-head hog-finishing unit, admitted to the violations, agreed to pay the civil penalty and a permanent injunction against further violations. READ MORE
