Iowa governor’s brother agrees to pay EPA fine

Sept. 20, 2013, Des Moines, IA – The Environmental Protection Agency is calling a settlement reached with Gov. Terry Branstad’s brother an “innovative” approach to resolving clean-water violations involving farm operations.
Forest City-based Branstad Farms, owned by Monroe “Monty” Branstad, will pay a $5,100 civil penalty to the federal agency but also complete a $26,000 wetland project to settle alleged violations of cattle feedlot rules. READ MORE
