IA manure service fined $5,575 for fish kill

July 21, 2015, Osage, IA – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has ordered an Osage-based commercial manure service to pay $5,575 for a manure discharge resulting in water-quality violations and a fish kill.
The manure was spilled during field application in October 2014, according to an administrative consent order. It flowed into an unidentified Little Cedar River tributary in which the company installed a pump and began pumping the water mixture until it was clear. READ MORE
