Hog manure causes fish kill in IL

Aug. 19, 2013, Roanoke, IL – Crews worked recently to pump contaminated water from Panther Creek near Roanoke after a swine waste concentration caused a fish kill in a 4.5-mile stretch.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency determined the cause of the contamination was a fertilizer sprayer that malfunctioned and piled a large amount of hog manure in one location, which eventually drained into the west branch of Panther Creek. READ MORE
