Hog manure blamed for killing fish

Ansgar, Ia. — The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has found that hog
manure discharged over a farm field caused a Mitchell County fish kill
recently.

manure discharged over a farm field caused a Mitchell County fish kill
recently.

The DNR reported September
11 that Anders Knudsen of St. Ansgar pumped 25,000 gallons of waste from a hog
nursery building to a nearby field.
