2019 North American Manure Expo – Make Plans Now to Attend!

Do not miss your chance to experience the North American Manure Expo being held on July 31st and August 1st in Fair Oaks, Indiana!

With its first ever stop in Indiana, the North American Manure Expo offers a great opportunity to see the newest technology, gain knowledge through educational sessions and see equipment in action.

The Expo will kick off on Wednesday, July 31st with tours in the morning followed by agitation demonstrations, special industry presentations and the trade show in the afternoon. The dairy tour will visit Windy Ridge Dairy to learn about their anaerobic digester and Midwestern BioAg to see how TerraNu fertilizer is produced. Participants choosing the poultry and beef tour will enjoy stops at Rose Acres high rise and double decker laying facilities and Bio Town Ag’s closed loop swine and beef production system featuring an anaerobic digester producing energy to return to the grid. The third option is a swine workshop hosted on the Fair Oaks Farms site due to biosecurity concerns. Although you won’t travel to a farm you will not be disappointed as Buiter Farms shares how their truck wash operations and Fastrack Fertilizer business help pork and dairy producers make best use of their nutrients. Klemp Farms will also tell about their contract finishing pork business, their manure application business and how this has complemented their transition to organic row crop production.

The trade show continues for the second day of the Expo, Thursday, August 1st, which also features 24 educational sessions and solid and liquid manure applicator field demonstrations. The educational sessions cover topics related to manure and nutrient management basics, manure and soils, health and safety with manure and new technologies in manure management.

Additionally, continuing education credits will be available for licensed manure haulers and applicators and certified crop advisers in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Minnesota. Additional state credits have also been requested.

With free registration (tours not included), the North American Manure Expo offers attendees plenty of time to interact with trade show vendors, see the newest technologies for manure management and make new connections!

The 2019 Expo is being held on the grounds of Fair Oaks Farms in Fair Oaks, Indiana. For more information and to register for the Expo, please visit the website at www.manureexpo.org.

History of Manure Expo

Beginning in 2001, the University of Wisconsin was approached by several custom manure applicators from around the region requesting a show that provides a side-by-side comparison of agitation and application equipment to help determine which best meets individual needs. The first Manure Expo was held near Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin in August 2001.

The first event proved to be a huge success. Due to the proven interest in the show, applicators from Minnesota and Wisconsin asked for a second show. In 2003 the second show was an even bigger success than the first with more than 700 participants. The growing attendance indicated that a need was being met and that expansion was the next step.

In an effort to expand impact around the region the decision was made to turn the Manure Expo into a traveling show.
The Manure Expo has been held in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska.

The North American Manure Expo brings together decision makers from the following industries:

  • Highly intensive livestock producers (Dairy, Beef, Pork and Poultry)
  • Custom Manure Applicators
  • Researchers/Consultants and Government Agencies

Manure Expo is owned by The Professional Nutrients Applicators Association of Wisconsin.
