July 25, 2011 –
Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans are a requirement for accessing EQIP
funding and may soon be part of new regulatory programs planned for dairies
located in the North Coast and High Desert. Free and confidential environmental
assessment reports and a nutrient management plan or review are available to
dairy producers under a program funded by a grant from the EPA.

dairy producers under a program funded by a grant from the U.S. EPA.

The Comprehensive
Livestock Environmental Assessment and Nutrient Management Plans West (CLEANmp)

program contracts with eligible technical service providers who are certified
to assist with the development of a nutrient management plan. The results of
these assessments are confidential and will not be used to impose NPDES
requirements.
