emissions will be examined at a meeting to be held February 2 in Point Reyes,
CA.
The session is
co-sponsored by Western United Dairymen, the Marin Resource Conservation
District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Topics include practices
to reduce greenhouse gases emitted from livestock production systems; funding
opportunities and compliance deadlines for the California diesel rule;
successful implementation of methane digesters and USDA Farm Bill technological
and financial assistance programs.
Speakers include
University of California – Davis air quality specialist Dr. Frank Mitloehner,
Cynthia Cory, director of environmental affairs with the California Farm Bureau
Federation; Robert Giacomini of Robert Giacomini Dairy, and Albert Straus of
Straus Family Creamery.
The session will run from
