August 10, 2010, Hart County, GA — A company that generates renewable energy by burning chicken manure will not build a plant in Hart County, Ga.

Fibrowatt, a Pennsylvania-based company, had been considering a plant site at the Gateway II Industrial Park, an idea that drew opposition from some residents of the surrounding rural Georgia counties and neighboring South Carolina counties. The industrial park is near the intersection of Interstate 85 and Ga. 77 on the Georgia-South Carolina border.
