regulators are seeking permission from well owners in Yakima County to test
their water for possible nitrate contamination.
Using a geographical information system, the EPA is identifying wells for testing that are likely to be high in coliform bacteria and nitrates, contaminants that can come from dairy manure and feedlot runoff.
