Federal grant available to assist livestock producers
The Environmental Resource Coalition (ERC) has been awarded a
federal grant to assist 500 livestock operations – located west of the
Mississippi – in the preparation of nutrient management plans and
environmental assessments.

The Environmental Resource Coalition (ERC) has been awarded a federal grant to assist 500 livestock operations – located west of the Mississippi – in the preparation of nutrient management plans and environmental assessments.

The Comprehensive Livestock Environmental Assessment & Nutrient Management Plan (CLEANmp) will provide confidential and free technical assistance to producers.
 
There is no limit to the size of the operation that takes part in the program and the only cost to the producer will be for soil and manure samples. Soil samples that are no more than four years old and manure samples not older than one year can be used.

Because only 500 operations are receiving funds for this program, it is important to get the application process started immediately.
