Farm reprieve in MD questioned

June 5, 2013, West Ocean City, MD — Farmers who agree to mitigate water pollution coming from their farms have received a 10-year reprieve from Maryland officials on implementing new water quality regulations
During its last legislative session, the Maryland General Assembly passed Senate Bill 1029, the Maryland Agricultural Certainty Program, which offers farmers a choice: If they voluntarily meet 2025 water quality goals now, the state will grant them a 10-year exemption from any new state or local regulations affecting water quality.
