September 3, 2009, Monroe, NH – Ismail Hussein, an agriculture official with the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, was astonished to learn that Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs essentially gives away its chicken manure, a valuable commodity in his arid country.
Hussein talked to Jesse Laflamme, who runs the farm, about possibly drying the manure and shipping it to Egypt, where it costs about $15 a cubic meter.
