May 19, 2010, Caledonia, MN – The Houston County Board was forced to take a “wait and see” approach when it came to a conditional use permit CUP Caledonia Township dairy farmer Mike Ingvalson applied for.

Ingvalson Hilltop Farms proposed to expand its dairy operations by 300 animal units. The expansion would include a state-of-the-art manure handling system. The Houston County Board of Adjustment reviewed Ingvalson’s plans and recommended approval of the CUP, as well as a setback variance that is needed for feedlot expansion.

But a petition signed by Ingvalson’s neighbors requesting an environmental assessment worksheet has put the project on hold.
