EPA scrutinizing manure management

Charlotte, Vt., dairy farmer Clark Hinsdale’s door one day recently.

It wasn’t the same familiar faces from the state agriculture
and natural resources department. It was officials from the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency making a surprise visit to examine the manure management
systems on Hinsdale’s farm.
