June 15, 2009, Merced, CA – Two three-hour Environmental Stewardship classes will be offered in Merced, California June 18 and June 26.
Sponsored by the California Dairy Quality Assurance Program (CDQAP), the classes cover environmental issues, regulatory requirements and management practices for dairy producers. You must attend both classes to complete the short course.
One important reason for Merced County producers to attend is that class attendance allows participation in the Prop 50 grant project that focuses on preparing waste management and nutrient management plans. Producers completing the classes will have a better understanding of their regulatory requirements and how to comply.
The classes are scheduled for Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 26, from 9 a.m. until noon at the UCCE Merced County classroom, 2145 W. Wardrobe Avenue. Producers needing more information can call CDQAP toll free at 1-866-66CDQAP.
