Digester spill was mile-long at one point

December 5, 2013, Waunakee, WI – A 300,000-gallon trail of manure that at one point stretched for at least a mile from a ruptured pipe at a Dane County biodigester may be cleaned up soon, said a spokesman for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The animal waste spread west from the PPC Partners energy-producing facility, then poured into a ditch system and flowed southeast into Six Mile Creek in Waunakee, said Mark Cain, a DNR wastewater engineer who has been monitoring the cleanup for more than a week. READ MORE
