The injector attaches to a 4” by 6” tool bar and features auto reset with 1,300-lb reset force. The series 50 MSD has a 1-1/4” by 2” edge bent 5160 alloy steel shank and narrow 1/2” thick high carbon sweep shank. The 1/2” thick sweep shank allows higher speeds to comply with maximum allowable phosphorus rates. Combined with the 55 degree swept back 8” wings, this results in minimum soil disturbance and allows shallow placement of nutrients. Other features include a hi-chrome cast tip, hard surfaced 8” wide sweeps, 3” OD slurry tube, separately replaceable sweeps and tube and a 22” heavy duty spring colter. The large colter allows the unit to slice through heavy residue. Heavy springs maintain the colter depth to prevent residue hair pinning.
