– A Delaware poultry farm took home the Governor’s 2011 Agricultural
Conservation Award for Sussex County for using sustainable practices. The
Otwell’s poultry operation turns around 225,000 chickens every 10 to 12 weeks.

– A Delaware poultry farm took home the Governor’s 2011 Agricultural
Conservation Award for Sussex County for using sustainable practices. The
Otwell’s poultry operation turns around 225,000 chickens every 10 to 12 weeks.

In the past year the
Otwells have planted nearly 900 trees, creating a barrier that will stop dust
from blowing around. They also placed cement pads in front of each chicken
house, and a shed that can store tons of manure.
