Proposal aims to fight manure pollution in WA

August 13, 2015, Olympia, WA – Major new rules were unveiled recently by state regulators aimed at stopping the pollution coming off Washington's large animal operations like dairy farms.

Top officials at the Washington state Department of Ecology, who have previously butted heads with agriculture interests, had been promising these draft regulations for months and unveiled them in conjunction with the Washington Department of Agriculture, widely seen as a friend of farmers.
