Comment period ends for manure revisions

public comment period has closed on proposed changes to the state’s manure
management manual.

public comment period has closed on proposed changes to the state’s manure
management manual.

The PA Department of
Environmental Protection (DEP) released new guidelines earlier this year on
manure application after meeting with ag groups, environmental groups, farmers
and state officials. It includes new setback limits from streams, private and
public drinking water sources, as well as revised guidelines for winter
application of manure and new manure stockpiling and storage guidelines.
