Collegeville manure site sparks debate

November 27, 2012, Collegeville, MN — A proposal to expand how much turkey manure can be stockpiled by a trucking company near St. John’s University may receive approval despite opposition from neighbors.
Huls Brothers Trucking wants to expand its facility along Collegeville Road in St. Wendel Township and substantially increase the amount of manure it stockpiles there.
The storage site was first permitted in 2008. The manure is hauled to Fibrominn in Benson, the first plant in the country to burn turkey litter to produce power. READ MORE
