Cold temps limit MI manure spill damage

February 24, 2014, Hopkins, MI – After a liquid manure spill from a Michigan dairy near Hopkins leaked into Weicks Drain, the Allegan County Health Department issued an advisory to stay away from the water that flows into Bear Creek, the Rabbit River and where it enters the Kalamazoo River at New Richmond.
The farm was notified of the spill and had the leaking valve cemented shut within hours. READ MORE
