The Government of Canada has dedicated $2.4 million in funding for P&P Optima Inc. through its AgriInnovative Program.
The investment is primarily for P&P to build and present its new food inspection technology for meat processors. Its system automatically analyzes the composition of food, evaluating properties like tenderness, freshness and its protein, water and fat contents.
It can detect imperfections and eliminate foreign bodies like plastic, bones and rubber in real time, generating information for processors to use to help improve their products, manage suppliers and optimize production, thus reducing food waste.
The investment will allow P&P to present its technology to potential users. The investment will also build a demonstration room to optimize their technology for use by potential meat processing clients.
